Delta Air Lines Inc. has announced a partnership with Dutch airline Transavia to provide better access to leisure destinations rimming the Mediterranean via Amsterdam.
The codeshare agreement allows fliers on Delta’s 19 daily nonstops from the U.S. to Amsterdam to book one ticket all the way through to 10 Transavia destinations, four of them not currently served by Delta. Those include Seville and Alicante, Spain; Thessaloniki, Greece; and Marrakech, Morocco.
Transavia will offer additional access to six other destinations already served by Delta, includingBarcelona, Malaga, Valencia and Ibiza, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; and Casablanca, Morocco.
Transavia, which serves 110 destinations, is a subsidiary of KLM, the Dutch carrier with which Delta has a transatlantic joint venture along with Air France.
Delta has been flying to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport for 25 years as of 2015 and now operates flights from there to eight destinations.
